Goto Signed Silver and Gold Daimyo Tachi
Most DaimyoTachi are unsigned, out of respect for the Daimyo for whom the artisan worked, since the master would own all of the output of those he employed; in over 38 years I have found just two signed Daimyo class Tachi, and this is one of them, the 7th Goto Master circa 1855; blade is superb signed Bizen blade dated Eiroku 3, or 1560; perfect hamon perfect condition; Ikeda Family Mons throughout.
The amazing thing about this sword is that it has every single thing still there as the first day when it was made - even the cords and hangers are all original. Silver and gold Ikeda Butteryfly Mons on all fittings and lacquer. Perfect!
